
Trademark Renewal Service in Chennai
A trademark that is registered is valid for 10 years at which point it must be renewed. The trademark registrar will mail you a notice of expiry of the trademark six months before the date of expiration. If you want to renew a trademark, you have two options to choose from:
I. Renew the trademark in the same way it is
II. Renew the trademark through modifications and changes
- The application to renew a trademark follows using the format "TM-R".
- The application doesn't have to be submitted by the trademark's owner It can be filed by an authorized agent or representative.
- Once the application has been approved, that trademark is published by the Official Gazette called the Trademark Journal.
- If the trademark was published, the owner of the trademark is protected for a further 10 years.
- The trademark may be renewed.
- If it is filed physically, the renewal application is priced at 10,000 rupees.
- If it is done online using e-filing, it will cost you 9000 rupees
Documents Required for Trademark Renewal in Chennai:
- A copy of registration certificates
- Copy of the form the TM-A (the form used to submit the initial application to register the trademark)
- The applicant's ID and address proof.
- Power of attorney when the person applying for it is an authorized representative or agent
